I was born in Ixopo and grew up in Pietermaritzburg and Grahamstown. I was educated at St John's School, DSG and Rhodes University. I have been living in Johannesburg with Jonathan Stones since 1995, after coming here on holiday and never quite leaving. We got married on 4 September 1999. Our son, Alexander, was born on 11 April 2003, our daughter Sophie on 20 January 2006, and I am pregnant with our second son, due 12 March 2009. I did a BA(Hons) in English at Rhodes, but for ten years I worked as a mainframe programmer, before becoming a stay-at-home mom when Sophie was born.

Hobbies

My main hobby at the moment is violin, which I am learning using the Suzuki method. I started in March 2006, with Alexander. Before Sophie was born, I sang in these choirs:

St Martin's-in-the-Veld, Johannesburg. I maintain the choir website, and hope to return to sing when my kids are old enough to join me.
Rhodes University Chamber Choir. I look after the Choir Guild database. If you sang in the choir, please email me with your name, address and years you were in the choir.
